About the
Cammen Lab

Our lab conducts research that aims to better understand aspects of ecology, evolution, and conservation biology in marine and coastal systems. We are interested in how marine species adapt to both natural and anthropogenic stressors, how genetic diversity partitions over time and space in dynamic populations, and how genomics can advance the study of non-model organisms in their natural environment. Our lab focuses primarily on marine mammal species that are sentinels of ocean health and species of conservation concern; we are committed to a ‘one health’ perspective that integrates human, wildlife, and ecosystem health.
